Internships - Scientific training with real world impact...
Imagine performing research at a leading global pharmaceutical corporation while gaining practical experience and contributing to the search for new disease therapies. Through the scientific intern program at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), your contribution to the search for new disease therapies can begin before you graduate. Our program is designed to introduce talented students to drug discovery and to train them in experimental work in this area.

Cambridge
Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States
As an Intern, you will have a chance to learn new experimental protocols and techniques; gain experience in designing and executing experiments; and analyze the data they produce. You will also participate in journal clubs, weekly seminars and project discussions in group meetings. Moreover, you will have an opportunity to interact with other interns during social outings.
The Scientific Summer Internship Program in Cambridge (June -August) is a paid, 40-hour per week program for students enrolled at an accredited U.S. university. Interns work on their own project under the guidance of a NIBR scientist. NIBR's research covers many disease, science, and technology areas which allow us to closely match your specific interests with one of our labs.
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed their sophomore year in college or university but not have graduated from a Master's degree program prior to the start of the internship. Ph.D. and M.D. students are not eligible for this program. Applicants must attend university in U.S. state or territory and be eligible to work in the United States.
Application Deadline: January 6th, 2012
Applications received after the deadline may be considered as additional positions become available through March 2012. Early application is encouraged as space is limited.
Pay: Competitive hourly rates will be based on the year of school completed.
Housing and Travel: Multiple options are available for students traveling from out of state. In addition to our competitive hourly pay rates, financial support for housing and travel will be available based on the Company's non-discriminatory assessment of the applicant's financial need.
