About Novartis

Analytical Sciences

The Analytical Sciences Group uses a broad range of analytical techniques to evaluate chemical compounds and proteins for their composition, quantity, purity and other physical properties to ensure the high quality and integrity of compounds used in screening assays.

The group is also responsible for the structure elucidation of natural compounds and the structure validation of drug candidates, and ensures that the proteins created both as biotherapeutic drug candidates and for structure-based drug design fulfill the necessary criteria with regards to their sequence and chemical/post-translational modifications.

The Analytical Sciences Group’s technological capabilities include the analysis of chemical and biologic compounds as well as structure validation and elucidation.
