Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation

As part of its drug discovery mission, the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) develops innovative technology that makes possible new approaches to complex biomedical problems in core areas such as Cancer Biology, Infectious Disease, Immunology and Metabolic/Cardiovascular Disease.

Located in San Diego, California, GNF is home to 580 scientists and engineers who work to understand the underlying causes of disease and to design and manufacture unique technologies, such as high-throughput automation systems, that enable breakthrough biology to accelerate the drug discovery process.

GNF maintains strong relationships with academic institutions throughout California, including The Scripps Research Institute, The Salk Institute, UCSD and UCSF, to further enhance its discovery capabilities.

With its unique and synergistic blend of basic science, engineering, and drug discovery research, GNF plays a vital role in NIBR's commitment to push the boundaries of science to change the practice of medicine.
