Preclinical Safety
The Preclinical Safety (PCS) Group performs toxicological studies to identify and characterize drug toxicities, describe exposures and establish qualitative and quantitative risks of exposure in humans. Inherent in the assessment is the examination of the pathogenesis of the findings and enhancing the predictive capabilities of the profiling.
PCS drives innovation in the effective profiling and selection of new targets, biomarkers, and drug candidates in full partnership with other departments in NIBR and Novartis.
PCS’s toxicological studies include target profiling, biomarker studies and modeling.
Disease areas
Understanding the underlying molecular basis of disease has enabled NIBR to turn scientific insights into medical breakthroughs.
